The Children's Future Thinking Questionnaire (CFTQ)
Mazachowsky & Mahy (under review)
Our lab has been working on developing a reliable and valid parent-questionnaire measuring 3- to 7-year-olds' future oriented cognition in the domains of planning, prospective memory, delay of gratification, saving, and episodic foresight (Mazachowsky & Mahy, under review).
The current questionnaire is 44 items and shows strong psychometric properties including strong internal consistency of the five subscales and full scale, excellent test-retest reliability, and validity (parent's responses are correlated with their child's behavioural performance on lab tasks).
It takes parents approximately 15 minutes to complete and can be administered in person or online.
Once published, the final questionnaire will be available at no cost to researchers on this webpage. Please fill out the contact form below if you are interested in using the questionnaire.
We hope to be able to share the questionnaire in 2019 once it has been published.
